Sustainability
Integrated Responsibility
Sustainability is embedded in the company’s overall strategy. Economic efficiency, environmental protection, and social responsibility form the three pillars of this approach.
Key Initiatives:
- Energy efficiency: Photovoltaic systems cover roughly half of total electricity consumption; optimized cooling and fermentation reduce energy demand.
- Resource management: Reduction of wastewater and material waste, recycling of by-products, and sustainable pomace utilization.
- PIWI varieties: Cultivation of fungus-resistant and climate-resilient grape varieties such as Souvignier Gris, and Calardis Blanc to reduce pesticide use and promote biodiversity.
- Integrated pest management: Application of pheromone-based systems for environmentally friendly pest control.
- Regional commitment: Preservation of vineyard structures, family farms, and the Rheinhessen cultural landscape.
